Grand Lexis - What to expect.

Grand Lexis is known to be one of the luxurious hotels here in Port Dickson, Malaysia. Its rate per room ranging from RM 600 - RM 1000 per night shows that the not everyone could afford the luxury standard that the hotel set. However, even with a large amount of money, you can't buy things that are lacking here in Port Dickson such as good places to eat. So briefly, Grand Lexis hotel is situated at approximately 1 Hour and 40 minutes ride away from the Kuala Lumpur City Center, KLCC.

I would suggest a prettier ocean view such in Langkawi or Perhentian Island. However, to individuals that have short vacation time, it is best to enjoy ocean view at a closer area. For your information, Port Dickson is not a hotspot place for tourist. It used to be but not so much anymore, hence the place lacking a good place to dine and eat. Especially during the celebration of Chinese New Year and Raya Aidilfitri. So what to expect at Port Dickson?

1. Lacking of good places to Dine.
All travelers have to face the fact that there are no good places to eat at Port Dickson. Even small stalls and restaurants close during the big celebrations such as Raya Aidilfitri and Chinese New Year. Even though you want to relax in the hotel, however, people can't really enjoy the stay without food.

Therefore, I would suggest that travelers bring some food over to the hotel as they provide you refrigerator to store your food. As for a friend of mine, she brings along other heating and cooking equipment such as rice cooker pot to heat her food. This actually saves up some money and you can even have your favorite food around all the time.

2. No good shopping mall to walk around
Among all the things that google identified as points of interest here in Port Dickson, none of it states shopping mall. I ask my local friend as well as and she verified that no shopping could be done here in Port Dickson. Bad news for female travelers, if you want to shop better do it at the city center instead. Port Dickson is only for travelers that enjoy the natural beach and coastline in Port Dickson and also for museum goers as well.

The available museum here in Port Dickson are:
1. Kota Lukut Museum                 : Admission FREE
2. Army Museum Port Dickson    : Admission FREE
3. Alive 3D Art Gallery                 : Admission RM 20 / adult and RM 15 / child.
4. Armor Museum                        : No information available.

3. Expensive food at the Hotel itself
From what I experienced here in Grand Lexis, restaurants, and small stalls tend to close early or close entirely during big celebration. Therefore, you another way to seek places is from the hotel itself. However, food tends to be very expensive. Nasi Lemak could cost up to RM10.00 which is kind of ridiculous.
