UTP Aikido Club at Ipoh Aikikai Aikido Dojo
Here we are again in Aikido Martial Arts. Last Saturday, some of the high committee of the UTP Aikido Club join the Aikikai Aikido Ipoh Dojo to experience a little bit more of Aikido with our seniors there. We together get to know each other while experiencing new and more advance techniques.
Its not always we get this kind of outing and I really appreciate the commitment showed by all the high committee that take part in the trip. Because there is only three belt coloured members in UTP Aikido team, we do not have the skills to be learning new advance techniques. It is always the basic. However, during the trip, I observed a lot of new techniques that require more flow movement between the Tori (Defensive) and the Uke (Attacker).
Again, that is why Sensei keep on emphasising basic techniques. This is to keep us and maintaining and improving our flow with the movement. Hence, lessen the injuries and better for us to remember the techniques. We had fun totally and I really hope that we learn more during the lesson and classes. The performances of the members fluctuate a little bit due to the fasting but thanks to them for showing up even though it is the Ramadhan, month of fasting.
Even though it is Ramadhan, the grading is still on. Yesterday was the phase two of the grading session. I can see that we all do have a lot of improvement especially to the white belt members. However, I hope that the current orange belt be more prepared and more fluent with the techniques especially the front roll. Even though it is hard but as seniors in UTP Aikido Club, we have to perform better because high committee Aikido reflects the club itself.
I hope that we later on become more active with all the activities conducted by UTP and the one that conducted by us. I will be around next semester to monitor the movement of Aikido so don't forget to join us. We definitely welcome more new members to join us.
