Bath Abbey


Bath Abbey is the Abbey Church of Saint Paul and Saint Peter at Bath. It is once a former Benedictine monastery that later on become an Anglican Parish Church. With such big dimension, the church is able to occupy about 1200 visitor each day. Now like every church the main attraction is the interior of the building. The church opens everyday from Monday to Saturday with time varies on Monday, Tuesday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For further information about the opening times of the church please click here.

Before church Abbey, this particular church have been an Anglo-Saxon Monastery which was then pulled down by the Normans, conquerors of England. Later then they built a massive Norman Cathedral to replace the old church that had been brought down. On the 15th century however, the Norman Cathedral turn to ruin and soon after become Church Abbey that is seen now. Safe to say that this church have been one of the historical remains that still majestically stood at Bath since the 15th Century which is 600 years.


Till this day, this particular church had been the main event for future kings and queens of England coronation. Even Elizabeth II coronation were held at Abbey Church Bath. Since the 15th century Church Abbey Bath is the last Mideval church that ever been built in England and with that ends the Mideval church era in England.
