Life without RACE! Voice of Concern

When I first thought of Penang, I was very skeptical. I thought at first, the place will only be of city neon lights, busy buzz streets, concrete jungle, hotels and malls. However, the one thing that caught my attention was Kek Lok Si Buddhist temple. Again the skeptical me thought only Buddhist are able to visit the temple but it was the high value of tranquility and peace that the place is opened and shared among the visitors.

Then it kinda opened my mind. Malaysia is such a great place. We get to experience each and everyone various different cultures, way of thinking, different experience and yet some time we still failed to understand that as a human being, nobody is superior than the others. We failed again when we decided to have privileges and I'm not just talking about native privileges but the privileges of opening up businesses, language, culture, schooling and education. 

We so consume with our own native ancestor way of living that we forget we are not the only one here in Malaysia. We are many and we are diverse. We have plenty of foods and it is shared with many of us, doesn't matter what race. We enjoyed it! So maybe its about time we rethink how we approach our sociology development here in Malaysia. Let's pick up a different tool. Try approach things differently and maybe at some moment to think that we should not belong in any racial pool.

To think one homogeneous race existed in Malaysia is a shame. We decline the possibility of 'variety' and not only it makes us weaker. We are then will not open to the possibility of new things. We could potentially be in behind provided that the world is evolve constantly. We will be unaware of what is important and to be truthful, I am happy that slowly, Malaysia is approaching to a more integrated mixed race society. That way we will able to understand each other better.

We can debate as much we want but by trying to approach it differently. Maybe the outcome will be different?
