Review: Arte Plus Klcc by Dreamscape during COVID-19
1. Confusing registration at the lobby. Cash deposit of RM 200 (CASH ONLY!!)
The lobby have three heads, literary three heads as the registration table at the lobby. So those heads represent different rooms or different building in the premise. So don't go around and wait to be called, it will take ages. Go straight to the admins in charge and ask which head will responsible for your registration.
My problem with the hotel is RM 200 CASH hotel room deposit!! I ask again whether they could proceed with authentication of deposit via credit card, but they can't do so. So visitors have to bring cash upfront for the deposits.
2. Complicated parking & lift system to get to your suite.
Once you are registered, they will proceed with a slightly brief and confusing way to get to your hotel room. With lack of signage at the hotel, you will maneuver difficultly with your vehicle to your designated car park. It was so confusing, To go to my suite, I first have to park at CP7A, there will be an access door require tap in by your access card. Ours didn't work so that's a bull crap, have to go to lobby again to get that fixed. then we head again to CP7A to park our car. Later we head to o SL3 lift to CP3 floor, once arrived I have to switched to PL23 lift, a private lift straight to my suite floor. Confusing isn't it?
3. Swimming pool card RM 20/pax deposits (CASH ONLY) and only 20 people is allowed to be at the pool at one time
The outdoor swimming pool serve you the best kind of view. You will be able to enjoy KL view and of course with the swimming pool sleek design, it sets you off to the magical wonderland. However, you can only get the magical wonderland deep in thought if there weren't so many visitors at the pool. To my experience, there were kids screaming and parents were going bonkers trying to get their kids behave, that is normal i guess.
To keep physical distancing at the pool area, the hotel limits the numbers of visitor. How they do it? They impose RM 20/pax deposits for a swimming pool access card and the available card is only 20 cards limiting the visitors to only 20 in a session. If there is no card left, your option would be the next available session. Each session is 1 hour session, of course 1 hour is enough for you to swim around, again with too many people considering 20 pax for a small pool will keep you snapped out from the magical wonderland.
I would always and certainly enjoy a quiet swimming pool session. To every hotel I've been, I would enjoy the outdoor scenery at the swimming pool area but not this one. NOT in Arte Plus KLCC by Dreamscape.
The seats for you to lounge around and for you to keep your stuff is not enough for 20pax. The locker room for visitors are also locked, I have no idea why. I would suggest to keep your valuable in your hotel room. Only bring the necessary. But what is necessary?
Towel!
There are no towels available at the pool. Bring extra towel if you can, cause the towel will be wet (the guards at the swimming pool will demand you to dry off even though the locker room is locked, I guess its hard to do it decently when there is no private bathroom/shower room to dry off. Some extra length to the towel would be great for extra covering) and you won't have extra towel at your hotel room. Luckily, our suite have a dryer so that helps.
My only problem with the hotel is every deposit (Hotel room deposit and swimming pool access card deposit) is done by CASH and CASH ONLY. Its year 2020, and food purchasing by foodpanda or grabfood is done by cashless transaction why can a hotel services do so?
Lazy river? say goodbye to it. The hotel decided to close some of the attractions off from the visitors and if you really wanted to go to some of the attractions, do give the hotel a call and double confirms it.
3. ONLY 1 Car Park Per Unit
Sure most hotels will provide only 1 car park per room. I understand that most hotels only resides two visitors at a time. Hence, the logic of having 1 car park per unit. However, our suite is three bedroom suites with 6 pax occupancy. I don't think one car park is enough now that most visitors with 6 pax occupancy would most probably drive in with 2 sedans. I guess if you have the luxury to own a 7 seater car then this place is great else you would have to park outside whereby the risk of towing could happen. I saw loads of warning for towing signs, but I did take the risk since there is no other options available or offered by the hotel.
For me there is no going back to Arte Pluss KLCC by Dreamscape.
