Review: Hausgrill Steamboat Cheese Klang (Not Recommended)
1. NO CREDIT CARD PAYMENT
The moment we enter the establishment, we were greeted by the personnel at the front of the house. We are required to pay of RM 40/pax prior to take a sitting and for an all you can eat buffet its very cheap and reasonable. Later they offered us a tupperware of mozarella cheese which cost of RM 10/tupperware and we include it in the bill as well. The first hiccup would be knowing that the establishment does not have the capability to accept credit card payment.
This might not be an issue if you are eating with a couple of friends but I went there with my 8 Pax family and the cost brings up to a total of RM 300++. Nowadays, people don't usually bring that kind of hard cash anymore but fret not, they accept payment through bank transfer instead. It also means that this place is not for foreign visitors as they don't usually have a local Malaysian bank account to proceed with bank transfer payment unless you carry that sort of hard cash with you.
2. COVID -19 SOP: NO SOCIAL DISTANCING
After paying, we were escorted to our table. The first table was dirty so we change to another table that is cleaner. On the table there were two grilling sets (2 portable hob) for 8 pax. I'm guessing here that 1 portable hob is for 4 - 5 pax sitting. We are given choice on soup either ordinary plain soup or tomyum soup for base per hob. We took both since we have 2 portable hob on the table. After sitting, I've noticed that there is no Social Distancing impose by the restaurant.
The place is always crowded and since the restaurant does not take any action on imposing social distancing, the crowd at the buffet station is always overwhelming. Additionally, they should have given us plastic disposable glove since we will be touching all the cutlery at the buffet station but no plastic disposable glove is offered. For a responsible person, they would have to go to the sink and wash their hands prior to picking out food at the buffet station but I doubt people would do that since you don't usually go to the buffet station one time. Multiple visit to the buffet station would have to be done for a complete meal and that also means that some people would just skip washing their hand entirely.
Above review highlighted the social distancing issue and it were written 2 months ago. I see nothing changes at the restaurant after my visit 2 weeks ago. I will not recommend this place if you want to bring along high risk person such as elderly and babies as they could easily contracted COVID-19. It's just not safe.
2. DIRTY and UNPLESANT
During the visit there, I've noticed that the restaurant is very dirty. The floor is covered with food waste as if no cleaning is done after a guess done eating and left the restaurant. Turns out I was partly right. I saw a cleaner cleaning the table but instead of disposing leftover food waste on the table to a bin, he threw it straight onto the floor hence making the floor dirty.
Also mentioned in google review written a month ago that the restaurant fail to clean and upkeep the baby seat. As well all know that baby have a tendency to contract diseases since they tend to touch everything and the restaurant doesn't seem to care about it. If they did, they would have to keep the restaurant to better hygienic standard.
3. NO LABELLING ON FOOD
I went to the buffet station and noticed that all food at the buffet station does not have a labelling. This concerns me as not everyone can eat everything. Some might allergic to a certain food and without labelling, you can't be sure what type of food you're taking for your family. My suggestion is to have a brief conversation with the waiter and understand what type of food is offered at the establishment prior to booking. Else feel free to eyeballing the food and judge what kind of meat served in that particular marinate.
4. CRAB and PRAWN is not properly clean
My family have a tendency to develop rashes if the seafood is an old stock. Guess what, that's what happened to us. My mother in law is the first one to noticed that the seafood is not fresh. My husband skipped seafood entirely during dinner due to this. Its a shame as we went there for its seafood but we cannot enjoy it. We should've read the review prior to eating at the restaurant as the review in image below have commented on this particular issue 2 years back but the restaurant haven't made any improvement since.
Not to mentioned that prawn and crab is not properly clean. The prawn gut track is still intact and served without removing it. I get that the restaurant is always busy but in my opinion, the restaurant should not compromise on the quality of the food. As for the crab, they didn't remove the gills prior to serving. The bare minimum a restaurant can do is to remove the gill prior to serving it at the buffet station as the gill can be s breading ground for bacteria and toxic waste.
My best bet is that the establishment have ZERO interest in customer well being. They only care on the amount of money the customer brings to the establishment.
5. LIMITED PARKING SPACE
Parking is just terrible. Just to set your expectation, the restaurant does not provide parking spaces for customers. You got to park at the main street besides of the road. Since it is a main street, crossing the road would be terrifying. The best you could do is come early or come at odd hours to avoid wasting time in finding car parks or to parking too far away from the restaurant. I cannot guarantee that there will not be summon or towing in place.
All in all, that is the first and the last time I will be at this establishment. Even though the restaurant offered a low price as compared to any all you can eat buffet out there, I will still avoid this place at all cost. This establishment screams "I DO NOT CARE AS LONG ITS PROFIT". Not a good place to chill with family.
