Chill Gig at Medan Gopeng on the 15 June 13

Life can never be more exciting then it always is. Thanks to the organizer of chill gig, we get the chance to once again be on stage and have fun. Seems like euphonious 13 in our heart have never stay away from us. Bands became more lively than ever, we met knew people, new talent and new spirit for this gig. Matter of fact, all the stress and strain of life is relieves away by all the music around us. 

It was a bit later that day that we as Athena went to the place to gig. The place was amazing, a simple solitude for us all musicians to play what they know best. Of course we are students, but that doesn't mean we should let go of what we love and what we like. This is what we love and this is where we put our heart into.

Our evening was pleased by the song from the band of Since Jane. They play awesome and we immediately forget of any problems that coming the next day or even the problems that we currently have. After Since Jane performances, we have music to the pleasant of our ears from Fifth Avenue.

They bring us back the memory from Hoobastank with the song Reason. They have high amplitude of energy and with that, the audience sing along with them. Its a good choice that they bring old song back. At least we  all could enjoy the song. They have bring their energy on stage well and kept till the end of the song. A great compliment to the singer, he have such an amazing voice and moreover, he interact with audience well. A good performer indeed. 

The song that they played reminded me back why do I love this genre of music. The lyrics, the music and everything about them. Because I play the piano, I have the tendency to listen to classical all the time. That is why sometimes it is refreshing to hear all the music that was once drag me out from the classical world.

Next is our performances. The Athena with a half a band. At original, we don't have a drummer and a bassist. What we have at the first place is only a violinist, a keyboardist, a guitarist and a singer. It was quite a challenge to seek for a drummer. Our drummer have changed to other university. A sad tale for our band but however it is also a good opportunity for other drummer to join our little family. As for our bassist, he went back to Egypt and we miss him truly. Hopefully he'll be here soon.

But all the bad news wasn't going to stop us from participating in this gig. We ain't going nowhere. So therefore, we have decided to bring acoustic song and to me it is a good decision. Athena is famous with their muse songs but I guess no more Muse if we don't have a complete band right. So played 5 songs and every one of them is quite and easy song

We played Ain't No Fun by Paramore, When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars, Zombie, What's Up by 4 Non Blonde and Karma Police by Radiohead. Its the first I guess for Athena to bring such song but everything was worth it. We had fun definitely and we totally enjoy the songs. 

The last band that we heard them play before we went back to UTP was from a band that earn our respect from the audience. It is Sent Through My Iphone. To me they had won the heart of their fans when they perform during Euphonius 13. They are an extraordinary band with extraordinary performers. 

I couldn't say much about their performances because I really did enjoyed it. Especially with the song Its My Life by Bon Jovi. The song bring more than enough to live out the stage and make they feel they are in their own world of music. The audience really enjoyed it and so am I. They do know how to keep up the momentum since their first popular debut in UTP during Euphonious 13. Thanks to all participants and the organizer, we did have a lot of fun during the weekend.

Music to us then was only in our mind. Nothing should be think about. Of course later that day, we back in reality but that doesn't mean that we should forget what just happened and ignore it. But we can do is get the experience, learn from it and have fun because life ain't stopping here.
