Mingu Mesra Kampus (MMK) May 13

Hey guys, welcome to UTP aikido club. This whole week was the epic time for our club here in UTP. There were loads of new enthusiasts that came and visit our booth. Mostly they want to know more about this fine martial arts. Most of them asked us what is aikido and where does it originated from. So to people out there, do some research about aikido because aikido, a japanese martial arts, is a worth every time of yours. 

So for the past three days, UTP aikido members have been explaining countless of times and what I noticed is most people who asked literary have the most excited face mimic when I say that aikido mostly about throwing, flipping and locking your opponent. Not to mentioned some people directly register their name to be apart of UTP aikido club after I've mentioned that. 

We know that aikido is a little bit new here in UTP so definitely people want to know more about it. In fact, aikido in UTP was only developed last year and most HICOM is new too. Don't be afraid and come and join us if you are interested. So today we gave a demonstration about Aikido. We showed to the audience about the techniques we have learnt so far such as Single hand Grip and corner drop. And with the help of aikido members during this 3 days event, we have successfully gathered many new members that have registered their names. This 3 days event was worth it. I knew a lot of people here.

During the demonstration, our president have performed really well. Congratulations to our president and to all the members who have took part in the demonstration. Your hard work for attending practice at oval park yesterday evening with all the rain pouring down onto our heads and for thanks again for participating in the demo today. Your help is very much appreciated. Thousands thank you to you guys. Unfortunately, we don't have pictures of our demonstration because every member that came today took part in the demo. 

By the way, to those utpian who are interested with UTP aikido martial arts. You can register by attending our first class on Sunday 5-7 PM. Get to know this martial arts by experiencing it first-hand. Every one are welcome to join. Come and visit us at martial art room at Block B to know more about aikido.

I'm sure we all had fun during the MMK. Thanks to the MMK committee who have made this event possible. They got amazing emcee. Promoting  every booth, clubs and products during the entire event. Thanks to them, aikido received many new members. Moreover, the committee have also arranged slots and schedule for the martial arts practitioner to show a little bit of their arts. Taekwando was amazing too including silat. They both have their own way of projecting their own unique arts. 

However, things could be boring sometimes here in MMK because no performance nor demonstration by the martial artists. But thanks to the nasyid team came and sang for the audience. Our days soon felt enlighten. They were awesome and at least, at times when less people not around, we have things to do and things to listen to. It was awesome. They're percussion team was really talented and I heard from people that they too have also participate in national nasyid competition.

Just to make more things interested. I would really love that if bands in UTP could join the next  MMK. If playing rock is too noisy than why don't we go with acapella and acoustic. It will definitely make the event even more special. So at least bands here in UTP will keep on performing even after Euphonious (battle of the band). Why not right. More performances here in MMK will be really exciting if they do not stuck in one scope of performance such as martial arts and nasyid.

Then suddenly new idea came. It started when my skater friend fooling around with my longboard in front our aikido booth. He asked me Why don't we start opening a booth of skating in UTP for the next MMK. It will be really really really exciting. Imagine, a booth where all kinds of longboard is available. All kinds of penny, skateboards and inline skates. Wow. speechless. It will be heaven to some people especially the skaters who have never play in UTP compound before. Why don't we try? Students have demanded for skating club so setting a booth during MMK would have been refreshing. And maybe just maybe that we could demonstrate some of skills and movement here. Slides, tricks and many other movement in skating that matters.

So there you go. A few paragraph regarding our MMK in UTP this recent days. Hopefully we have a better one next semester. People from outside supposedly join too just to chilling out, playing some games while getting through this hot days in Perak.

Well good things come from crazy ideas and crazy ideas come from people whom brave enough to dream and to make it real.
