PLUS Camping Jolly Hostel Venice Italy Review
PLUS Camping Jolly situated at via 30175, Via Giuseppe de Marchi, 7, Venezia VE, Italy is one of the cheapest hostel that you could get in Venice. You could get a room in less that 10 euro per person for every night stay. The concept of the hostel is pretty much like camping where every room is a cabin concept. Every cabin have a shower and toilet to cater the occupier of the cabin. It is actually a 3 star hostel rated by Google and it wan't the nicest experience to stay there.
We stayed in a three person room and the room was compact and small. Having three person in a room is stuffy even though it is built that way. The cabin was so shaky and I believe that there is not x and y-axis steel that could restrain the movement of the cabin. So every time people next door walk around heavily, the cabin will moves. To my opinion, if thunderstorm happen that night our cabin will one of the many cabins to be uprooted and flew to the sky.
The bathroom is also very small and I can hardly can move anywhere. However, they have huge bathroom at the centre of the camping site. I found it very comfortable for you to enjoy your bathing time. The bed wasn't so nice as mine situated above the table. Its very hard to get on top and the beds on the floor were a bit bouncy. If you a deep sleeper then congrats to you. You will go through the night with a snore but if you a light sleeper just like me when I am on holiday, the night would be troublesome.
The only drawback that I found it troublesome as compared to many drawback they have is they don't provide shuttle bus from the train station to the hostel. We have to walk for about 40 minutes just to get there and the worst thing about it is that there is no pedestrian walk from the hostel to the train station. We ended up crossing a busy highway that I found troubling and dangerous. We arrived at Venice quite late and midnight bus wasn't around. For easier travelling, I would suggest that the hostel provide suitable map for pedestrian so travellers don't do the same thing like we did.
All in all, I believe the hostel is still a better place to stay in and the cheap price is an add on for fellow travellers. But do consider to arrive there with public transportation so that you won't have to cross a busy highway just to get there.
